What ages is this pen recommended for?
The SCRIB3D P1 is recommended for ages 14+ due to the high temperature of the nozzle when extruding filament. The pen temperature can be adjusted from 160°C to 210°C.

What size filament does the pen need?
The SCRIB3D P1 uses 1.75 mm filament spools. The pen set comes with PLA filament, and the pen is compatible with ABS (or any filament that can be used in the PLA-ABS temperature ranges).

Is there any setup involved?
No setup or special tools required. Simply plug the adapter into the back of the pen, set the temperature by choosing the filament type and clicking the forward button, and wait for the pen to warm up.

What type of battery or charging cable does the pen require?
The SCRIB3D P1 comes with a 3.5 mm barrel DC power adapter. The pen requires a consistent 5V and 2A to run correctly, so it must remain plugged in during use. You can use a power bank or portable charger with 5V, 2A to use your pen on the go.

Can I change the color of the filament midway through a spool?
Yes! The SCRIB3D P1 has forward and backward buttons, so you can reverse filament out of the pen to change colors. Just make sure to always snip the ends of the reversed filament before reinserting it into the pen. Once filament has been extruded, it cannot be reused.

What surfaces can I draw on with the SCRIB3D P1?
You can create directly on the Stencil Guide that comes in the box with your pen. We also recommend the SCRIB3D Pad (sold separately). Smooth surfaces that are not affected by high temperatures such as glass, marble, wood are examples of surfaces that can be drawn on. Always test any surface before creating. (Due to the high temperature of the nozzle, do not draw directly on skin.)
